The documentary titled “Touching the Values of Water from Ancient Times to Modern Times: Burdur Fountains” stands out as a qualified academic-cultural production that addresses the importance of water structures within Burdur's historical and cultural heritage. This documentary, prepared by 15 Temmuz Şehitler Anadolu Lisesi students Buğlem Tür and Ece Taşkın, aims to evaluate the functional, symbolic, and social values of water from ancient times to the present day through the example of Burdur.
In forming the historical background of the documentary, academic consultancy was provided by Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Aslı Ünar, a faculty member of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In this context, the place of water in urban life since ancient times, its role in shaping public spaces, and the position of fountains in social memory were addressed from a scientific perspective.
Additionally, contributions were made by Prof. Dr. Şükrü Özüdoğru, a faculty member of the Archaeology Department; in the documentary, informative explanations were provided about ancient water architecture, hydraulic systems, and the function of fountains within Roman period urban planning, specifically focusing on the Kibyra Fountain.
